Several areas across the city and Mumbai Metropolitan Region experienced disruptions, with roads inundated and traffic movement affected. Visuals from locations such as King's Circle in Matunga showed vehicles moving slowly through flooded stretches, while areas around Dadar station were also impacted. According to the MeT department, Mumbai recorded more than 300 mm of rain in 24 hours, placing it in the "extremely heavy rainfall" category. The weather agency initially issued a red alert for Mumbai and Palghar in the early hours, warning of thunderstorms, lightning, very heavy rainfall and strong winds reaching 40-60 kmph. By 7 am, the alert was reduced to orange, though moderate to intense rain activity was expected to continue across Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Palghar and Sindhudurg over the following hours.
