Trump this week approved a 28-point plan for peace between Russia and Ukraine, NBC News reported, citing a senior administration official.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio wrote on X that Washington "will continue to develop a list of potential ideas for ending this war based on input from both sides of this conflict."

The Trump administration is pursuing new peace talks with Russia to end the Ukraine war, with special envoy Steve Witkoff leading negotiations. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll met Ukrainian officials as part of the effort, while US and Russian officials confirm ongoing high-level contacts despite limited progress.

The sources, who asked not to be identified because of the sensitivity of the matter, said the proposals included cutting the size of Ukraine's armed forces, among other things. Washington wants Kyiv to accept the main points, they said.
