The monsoon session of Parliament ended amid repeated disruptions, with more than 80 per cent of the scheduled time reportedly lost to Opposition protests, resulting in significant public expenditure going to waste.

MUMBAI: The BJP has slammed opposition for disrupting Parliament and demanded opposition leader Rahul Gandhi take financial responsibility for wasted parliamentary time. BJP Rajya Sabha MP Vinod Tawde termed Gandhi a "reel master", holding him responsible for the disruption.

Parliament's failure to function with its current strength highlights that simply raising the number of MPs will not improve its effectiveness.

Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar accused the Opposition of avoiding a discussion in Parliament, saying that the government had already made its position clear. He also referred to the arrest of TMC leader Nirmal Ghosh in the RG Kar Medical College junior doctor rape-murder case.
