NEW DELHI: The Jantar Mantar protest may have ended, but the political battle around it is showing no signs of fading. What began as an agitation over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination has now spilled into a bitter confrontation over Gen Z, the conduct of protesters, political speech and the limits of public dissent.

NEW DELHI: For a month, police were never the enemy. Toshiva Yadav, a 27-year-old MBA student at IIT Patna, had spent 30 days at the students' protest in Delhi, sharing meals with police personnel, taking evening walks around Jantar Mantar with fellow protesters and even chatting with cops guarding the site.
