The incident comes at a time when food safety authorities have already been scrutinising facilities linked to quick-commerce platforms across Maharashtra.

A viral video from Kalyan in Maharashtra has allegedly captured a rat inside an ice cream crate at a Blinkit store in the Godrej Hill area. The incident reportedly came to light when a group of youngsters went to purchase ice cream and spotted the rodent moving among packaged products. The video has triggered concerns over food safety and hygiene, with citizens demanding action from the Food and Drug Administration.

Police are also verifying the accounts given by employees who were present at the time of the incident, while the investigation is continuing.

The suspended licences included five Blinkit, five Zepto, two Instamart establishments, one Bhagwati Stores outlet and one Swinsta Ent Pvt Ltd establishment.
