The recent controversy surrounding the transfer of senior officials during the West Bengal Assembly elections has once again brought into focus the ex.

Letter, dated 19 March 2019, had guidelines on candidate disclosure rules, was sent to all parties in Kerala. EC said it was a 'clerical error' & that the letter had already been withdrawn.

Stressing that the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer acknowledged the lapse as soon as it was detected, it said that the Deputy Chief Electoral Officer issued a formal letter on March 21 to withdraw the erroneous document.

On Sunday, the West Bengal CM declared her next aim after the State Assembly elections, scheduled to take place in the last week of April.
