NEW DELHI: A Chhattisgarh district consumer commission, in an order dated July 28, held IndiGo Airlines liable for deficiency in service after a passenger's checked-in bag went missing during a flight from Bengaluru to Raipur. Holding that the airline was responsible for safely returning the passenger's baggage after removing a prohibited item, the commission directed it to pay Rs 50,000 as compensation, Rs 15,000 for mental agony and Rs 5,000 towards litigation costs.
