People in Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand may get relief from the heat on June 11 as the IMD has predicted rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds in several areas.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that conditions are favorable for the southwest monsoon to enter parts of Jharkhand within the next two to three days.

Delhi residents woke up to a relatively pleasant morning on June 11 as changing weather conditions brought much-needed relief from the intense heat that has gripped the national capital in recent days. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi is expected to witness a partly cloudy sky that will turn generally cloudy by the afternoon. The weather agency has issued an orange alert for the city.

NEW DELHI: Delhi-NCR residents woke up to a welcome change in weather on Thursday, bringing relief from the intense heat that has gripped the national capital over the past several days.

The weather department has predicted thunderstorms with moderate rainfall and surface winds of speeds between 40-50 kmph in these two districts as well as Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Thrissur, Malappuram.

Noida Weather: According to IMD, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds are expected in parts of north India, including Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Lucknow, Kanpur and Delhi.

Delhi recorded 31degC at 7 am on Thursday. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature was 42.4degC, while the minimum temperature stood at 22.9degC. The IMD has forecast a maximum temperature of 40-42degC and a minimum temperature of 24-26degC for Thursday.

IMD Monsoon 2026 Update: The weather system is also creating favourable conditions for the further advance of the southwest monsoon into several parts of central and eastern India, including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal during the next three to four days.
