NEW DELHI: Heavy rainfall is likely across several parts of the country on Thursday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting heavy rain over parts of northwest, central, east, northeast, west and peninsular India.

The weather department expects the cloudy conditions and occasional showers to continue over the next few days, keeping temperatures close to normal and providing continued relief from humidity.

There is an expected monsoon rainfall throughout the whole country for the coming seven days according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Extremely heavy rainfall is anticipated in parts of the Northeast while heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in other parts of the country including Himalayas, central part of India, eastern coast and Konkan region.

Light to moderate rainfall is expected in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli, Nanded, Latur and Dharashiv districts of Marathwada region.
