NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Tuesday directed Delhi and all state governments to release all arrested or detained protesters under the age of 18 with no criminal antecedents and ordered the police to preserve all digital evidence.

The Supreme Court has ordered the immediate release of students detained during the NEET protest, provided they have no prior criminal record. The court also issued notices to seven states over allegations of excessive police force and directed authorities to preserve all CCTV footage.

The Court also directed that no coercive action be taken against students for the time being, ordered preservation of all electronic evidence relating to the protests.
