NEW DELHI: Just a day after taking charge as Delhi Police commissioner, Anurag Kumar oversaw his first major operation as activist Sonam Wangchuk was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital after his health deteriorated during his 21-day indefinite hunger strike.

According to Dr Charu Bamba, Medical Superintendent, Safdarjung Hospital, Wangchuk is somewhat weak due to prolonged fasting and is experiencing mild dehydration. All his vital parameters are stable.

Two doctors and two paramedics have been deployed at Safdarjung Hospital for Sonam Wangchuk's treatment. According to Delhi Police sources, a team of doctors and paramedics from RML Hospital conducted a health check-up on Sonam Wangchuk this morning.
