The Centre is set to prioritise key legislations in the Monsoon Session beginning July 20, sources said. Among the measures likely to be taken up are the Income Tax Amendment Bill, a law on national honours and a proposal to increase the strength of Supreme Court judges.

The new bill, to be introduced in Parliament next week, gives Vande Mataram the same legal protection as the national anthem, the tricolour and the Constitution. It is likely to spur another round of intense BJP vs Congress face-off over the song's history.

Activist Sonam Wangchuk, whose indefinite hunger strike entered its 20th day, has announced when he would end his fast.
