Hundreds of aspirants in Ranchi say the JPSC controversy is only the latest in a series of alleged paper leaks, delays and irregularities in Jharkhand's recruitment system.

NEW DELHI: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Atul Limaye has alleged that the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP)-led protest over the NEET-UG paper leak evolved into an "experiment for alternative politics", claiming that several political, student, labour and civil society organisations joined the agitation to propagate the idea of "subversion of democracy through democratic means."

The Supreme Court clarified that the Centre and states can withdraw or close FIRs against students who joined NEET paper leak protests, except those with antecedents involving grave and heinous offences.

The CJI clarified that by protesters with a criminal past, he meant only those facing serious charges (such as murder). The bench led by the Chief Justice of India (CJI) was hearing the petitions concerning the violence during the 'Sansad Chalo' march on July 20.

The Thane City police busted the case after its DCP (Zone II) received a tip-off that the paper was being sold in Bhiwandi city. After sending decoy police personnel, three persons from Haryana and Bihar were arrested with the actual paper on June 26.
