NEW DELHI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that heatwave to severe heatwave conditions are likely to continue across large parts of Central and Northwest India over the next 4-5 days, and over East and adjoining Peninsular India during the next 3-4 days, even as it forecast a gradual reduction in maximum temperatures from May 29 onwards in most regions except parts of Rajasthan.

Indian tourists might have to prepare themselves for a tough week ahead as per the forecast issued by India Meteorological Department (IMD), where there will be a mix of extremely hot temperatures, rains, thunderstorms, hailstorms, and gales prevalent in multiple tourist zones across the nation between May 27 and 31.

Nagpur: With severe heatwave sweeping Vidarbha and temperatures likely to remain high even next month, students preparing for the NEET (UG) re-examination on June 21 have a tougher task at hand. Bringing some respite is Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan's directives about ensuring basic amenities like drinking water and coolers at the examination centres.

Chennai: The school education department has sought inputs from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to check for possible heatwave-like conditions in the first week of June. Based on the inputs, a discussion will be held with chief minister C Joseph Vijay to postpone the reopening date of schools, school education minister Rajmohan told mediapersons on Monday.
