CBSE is facing widening complaints from Class 12 students who say scanned answer sheets were exchanged or incomplete. The row has shifted from marks to accountability as families question trust in the board's evaluation system.

The Supreme Court has sought responses from CBSE and the Centre on petitions against the new three-language policy for Class 9 within four weeks. The next hearing dates are July 15-16. Petitioners say the shift, set to begin in 2026, may add pressure on students preparing for board exams.

CBSE answer sheets mismatch row: CBSE admitted discrepancies on evaluations of Class 12 answer sheets raised by students and sent correct answer books of the same. The result of the Class 12 students will also be updated based on the new marks, CBSE replied through a mail to aggrieved students.

According to official sources, there are around 20 cases where answer sheets got mixed. Students identified the problem after accessing the copies.

Explaining the rationale behind the decision, the board wrote, "In order to ensure a transparent and glitch-free process for verification and re-evaluation of answer books of students who intend to submit their applications on the Post-Result Activities portal, it has been decided that the designated portal will now be operational from 1st June 2026."
