Mumbai remains under a red alert as heavy rain continues to batter the city and suburbs on Sunday. The IMD has warned of intense rainfall over the next 24 hours along with gusty winds.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Several parts of Kerala received rain on Sunday as the IMD forecast isolated heavy showers in the northern districts and issued orange and yellow alerts for various parts of the state over the next three days.

Monsoon in India: The BMC reported 64 incidents of tree falls, eight house or wall collapses. In one incident, a two-storey structure collapsed at Banewadi in Byculla, injuring two men and one woman.

Weather News, Rains Today Live Updates: The IMD has also issued red alerts for parts of Maharashtra, Odisha, West Bengal and Kerala.

An 'orange' alert, asking people to be prepared to take action in case of any calamity, was issued in 19 other districts and a 'yellow' warning for six other districts.

In Gujarat, the monsoon has also caused severe disruption, with Mangrol town in Junagadh receiving nearly 21 inches of rain in four hours, leading to waist-deep waterlogging on roads to Somnath, Junagadh, Porbandar and Dwarka and halting traffic for around 24 hours.

As per the IMD nowcast, the red alert is in effect till 1 PM for Pune, Mumbai city, Mumbai Suburban, Raigad, Thane and Palghar. | India News
