IIT Mandi researchers have launched a fully operational Landslide Early Warning System that issues daily forecasts across the Indian Himalayan Region through a web portal. Built on historical landslide mapping, satellite rainfall data and WhatsApp alerts, it is aimed at helping agencies act earlier during the monsoon and reduce human and economic losses.
