Following the cancellation of NEET-UG 2026 and the announcement of a retest, at least 12 aspirants across India died by suicide. Their stories have renewed concerns about academic pressure, mental health, financial burdens and the emotional toll of competitive examinations like NEET.

Ahead of NEET-UG 2026 re-exam on June 21, authorities conducted a nationwide mock drill and tightened security. The NTA is overseeing arrangements across 551 cities and 14 abroad.

NTA admitted it was a technical glitch and promised to issue a revised admit card with the correct exam centre after a Nagpur aspirant's family flagged the issue.

The Chief Minister said a total of 97 examination centres have been designated for the NEET examination in Delhi. Special cooling zones are being established by the district administration near all these centres.

The Chief Minister stated that to avail the benefit of free travel on DTC buses, candidates would simply need to show their valid NEET admit card to the bus conductor.
