Diljit Dosanjh-starrer Satluj is based on the late Jaswant Singh Khalra. His wife Paramjit Kaur has appealed to the Akal Takht to constitute a People's Commission to find out the actual number of missing persons, unidentified bodies, and individuals killed in fake police encounters in Punjab.

The Centre is weighing legal action over the release and public screenings of Diljit Dosanjh-starrer 'Satluj', with government sources claiming the film was made available without obtaining a valid certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Diljit Dosanjh's 'Satluj' has been in the news ever since it was removed from OTT two days after the film's release. Earlier, the CBFC had suggested 127 cuts to the film, so the makers opted for an OTT release.
