Thalapathy Vijay's much-awaited film Jana Nayagan has finally received its censor certificate ahead of its theatrical release. The action drama has been awarded an A (Adults Only) certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

After months of legal battles, certification delays, piracy leaks and endless speculation, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay's 'Jana Nayagan' has finally received clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film has been awarded an A certificate, bringing to an end one of the longest and most controversial censor processes in recent Tamil cinema.

For the unversed, Jana Nayagan was originally scheduled to release in January 2026. However, the release was postponed after the makers faced delays in obtaining certification.

A Canadian distributor's X post and a District by Zomato listing hint that Thalapathy Vijay's Jana Nayagan may release on July 24, 2026, though the makers are yet to make an official announcement. See the post here.
